About Nijut Moina Asoni Scheme 2026
The Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Asoni Scheme was launched on 8 August 2024 to increase participation of girl students in higher education across Assam. The scheme covers students from Higher Secondary to Post-Graduation and B.Ed levels and provides financial assistance based on their level of study.
The objective of the scheme is to reduce dropout rates after Class 10 and Class 12 and to support continued education among girls. It also contributes to addressing early marriage by encouraging girls to remain in the education system. The scheme is implemented through educational institutions under the supervision of the state education departments.

Eligibilty Criteria
To be eligible for the scheme, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam and must be a female student studying in Class 11, Class 12, Graduation, or Post-Graduation or B.Ed. The student must be enrolled in a government or government-aided institution, as private institutions are not eligible under this scheme. The applicant must have an active bank account linked for Direct Benefit Transfer.
Exclusive Conditions
Students studying in private institutions are not eligible under this scheme. In most cases, married applicants are not eligible, although limited flexibility may apply for higher education levels depending on implementation rules. Daughters of Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, or certain categories of government officials may be excluded. Applicants receiving overlapping benefits from specific state schemes may also be excluded as per guidelines.
Documents Required
Applicants are required to submit Aadhaar card, bank passbook, admission proof or student identity card, passport size photograph, and a valid residence certificate of Assam. These documents are verified by the institution before approval.

The application process is conducted through educational institutions. There is no direct public online application portal for individual students. Follow the steps below to apply for this scheme.
