About APSC Veterinary Officer Recruitment 2026

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens for recruitment to the posts of Veterinary Officer and Block Veterinary Officer under the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Government of Assam.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

Applicants must also be registered with the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) or any State Veterinary Council.

Age Requirement: Candidates must be 21 to 38 years of age as on 01 January 2026.

Age relaxation is available as follows:

  • SC/ST: 5 Years
  • OBC/MOBC: 3 Years
  • PwBD: 10 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per Government rules

Reservation & Relaxation: Reservation has been provided for SC, ST(P), ST(H), OBC/MOBC, and PwBD candidates in accordance with Government of Assam rules. Reservation for women and ex-servicemen will also be applicable as prescribed.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will receive a salary of ₹30,000 – ₹1,10,000 under Pay Band-4 with Grade Pay of ₹12,700, along with other admissible allowances.

The recruitment is being conducted for the post of Veterinary Officer/Block Veterinary Officer (VO/BVO) under the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department.

APSC Veterinary Officer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted through an interview. If a large number of applications are received, the Commission may conduct a screening examination or adopt another shortlisting method before the interview.

The final selection process will be decided by APSC based on the number of eligible applications received.
