About Assam GNM Entrance Exam 2026
Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) conducts the GNM Entrance Examination every year for admission into Government and Private Nursing Institutes across Assam. The entrance examination is conducted under the Directorate of Health Services, Assam.
Candidates qualifying the entrance examination will become eligible for admission into GNM courses for the academic session 2026-27.

Eligibilty Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:
- 10+2 with English securing minimum 40% marks from recognized board
- 10+2 with English and 40% marks in Vocational ANM course recognized by Indian Nursing Council
- 10+2 with English and 40% marks in Vocational Stream – Healthcare Science
- Registered ANM with pass marks
Science stream candidates will be given preference.
Age Limit: Minimum Age: 17 Years as on 31 December 2026
Candidates below 17 years of age are not eligible for admission.
Reservation & Relaxation: Reservation of seats for Government institutes will be applicable as per Assam Government rules.
SC/ST candidates will receive 5% relaxation in qualifying marks as per INC norms.
PwBD Eligibility: PwD candidates having 40% or more disability are exempted from payment of entrance examination fee.
Eligibility Note: Candidates must be medically fit for admission into GNM course. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is mandatory for admission into Government Institutes of Assam.

Selection Process
Selection will be based on marks obtained in the Assam GNM Entrance Examination 2026.
Merit list will be prepared according to total marks secured in the entrance examination.
In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, inter-se merit will be decided based on:
- Higher marks in English
- Higher marks in General Science
- Higher marks in Mathematics
- HSLC marks in English, General Science, and Mathematics respectively

Important Instructions
Admit cards will be available online from 14 June 2026. Candidates must carry admit card to examination centre. The examination will be conducted through OMR sheet mode. Candidates should carefully follow instructions mentioned in the admit card and question paper booklet. Any false information submitted by candidates may lead to cancellation of candidature.
