About CTET September 2026

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted by CBSE for candidates who want to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in Central Government schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other CBSE-affiliated institutions.

Paper I is meant for candidates planning to teach Classes I to V, while Paper II is for candidates intending to teach Classes VI to VIII. Candidates who want to teach both levels can appear in both papers.

Applicable For: Primary Stage Teachers

Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

CTET September 2026 will be conducted in 27 languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, English, Hindi, Khasi, Garo, Manipuri, Nepali, Sanskrit, Urdu, and others.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification: For Paper I (Classes I to V), candidates should possess Senior Secondary qualification along with D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed, Diploma in Special Education, or equivalent qualification as per NCTE rules.

For Paper II (Classes VI to VIII), candidates should possess Graduation with B.Ed, D.El.Ed, B.Ed Special Education, B.A.Ed, B.Sc.Ed, or equivalent recognized qualification.

Candidates appearing in the final year of teacher education courses are also eligible to apply.

Reservation & Relaxation: Relaxation up to 5% in qualifying marks is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, and Differently Abled candidates as per NCTE guidelines.

PwBD candidates can avail facilities including:

  • Scribe/Reader assistance
  • Additional compensatory time
  • Large-font question paper for visually impaired candidates

Selection Process

CTET is an eligibility examination conducted through offline OMR-based test.

Candidates scoring:
