About Assam SC & OBC Scholarship 2026-27
The Assam SC & OBC Scholarship programme provides financial assistance to eligible Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) students pursuing school and higher education. Applications are accepted through the National Scholarship Portal for both fresh and renewal candidates.
Key Scholarship Information
The scholarship covers five schemes including Pre-Matric and Post-Matric assistance for SC and OBC students. Eligible candidates must belong to the respective community, satisfy the income criteria where applicable, and complete registration through the NSP portal.
Scholarship Schemes: The Assam SC & OBC Scholarship 2026-27 includes multiple scholarship schemes for eligible students. These include the Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students studying in Classes IX and X, the Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students whose parents or guardians are engaged in unclean occupations, the Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students pursuing higher studies, the Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students studying in Classes IX and X, and the Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students enrolled in post-secondary and higher education courses.
Eligibility: Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam and belong to the SC or OBC community. A valid caste certificate issued by the District Commissioner is required.
Income Requirement: For most schemes, the annual family income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh from all sources. The income certificate must be issued by the Circle Officer of the concerned Revenue Circle.
Students applying under the Unclean Occupation category are exempt from the income ceiling requirement.

Assam SC & OBC Scholarship 2026-27 Application Process
Students must first generate a One-Time Registration (OTR) Number through the NSP OTR App and complete face authentication. After registration, applicants can submit their scholarship application through the National Scholarship Portal.
All scholarship payments will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

Application Guide
Eligible students should ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria and keep all required documents ready before starting the application process. Applicants must have a valid Aadhaar number, an Aadhaar-linked mobile number, an active bank account seeded with Aadhaar, and the necessary certificates required for their respective scholarship scheme.

2. Click on the NSP OTR Registration link and generate your One-Time Registration (OTR) Number through the NSP OTR App.
3. Complete the mandatory face authentication process and finish your registration.
4. Return to the Important Links section and click on the Apply Online link.
5. Log in to the National Scholarship Portal using your OTR details.
6. Select the appropriate scholarship scheme and fill in all required personal, academic, and bank account information.
7. Upload the required documents, including caste certificate, income certificate, bonafide certificate, and other applicable certificates.
8. Carefully review all details entered in the application form.
9. Submit the application before the closing date and save a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
10. Regularly check the application status and ensure that your institution completes the verification process within the prescribed timeline.
After successful submission, applicants should keep their registered mobile number active and monitor the NSP portal for updates. Scholarship benefits will be transferred directly to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system upon successful verification and approval of the application.
