About SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026
State Bank of India (SBI) conducts apprentice recruitment every year for graduates interested in banking sector training opportunities. Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for one year under the Apprentice Act, 1961.
The apprenticeship program is designed to provide practical banking exposure, branch operations training, customer handling experience, and financial service knowledge.

Total Seats: 7,150
The recruitment includes 7,150 apprentice training seats across different states and union territories of India. Selected candidates will undergo 1-year apprenticeship training with monthly stipend of ₹15,000.
For Assam, 368 seats are available. Candidates applying for Assam must know Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo language.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Candidates who completed graduation on or after 01 April 2021 are eligible to apply.
Age Limit (as on 01 May 2026):
Minimum Age: 20 Years
Maximum Age: 28 Years
Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 May 1998 and not later than 01 May 2006.
Reservation & Relaxation: Upper age relaxation is applicable as per Government rules:
- SC/ST – 5 Years
- OBC (NCL) – 3 Years
- PwBD (UR/EWS) – 10 Years
- PwBD (OBC) – 13 Years
- PwBD (SC/ST) – 15 Years
Reservation benefits are applicable as per Government of India guidelines.
PwBD Eligibility: PwBD reservation is applicable for:
- Visually Impaired (VI)
- Hearing Impaired (HI)
- Locomotor Disability (LD)
- Autism, Mental Illness & Multiple Disabilities (d&e)
Candidates applying under PwBD category must possess valid disability certificate issued by competent authority.
Local Language Requirement: Candidates applying for a particular state must know the specified local language of that state. SBI may conduct local language proficiency test after selection.
Eligibility Note: Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training or currently undergoing apprenticeship training under Apprentice Act are not eligible to apply.
